The 3rd match of the Desserts n More Sarsangan Super Series Cricket 2024 was played between MLT PDK Kings and Madgaon Royals. Put in to bat, MLT PDK Kings got off to a rousing start with Sumiran Amonkar 51 (41 balls) and Siddesh Sinai Amonkar 28 (36 balls) putting on a 75 run opening partnership off 10.4 overs. The introduction of spin immediately paid dividend with Shaunit Sawardekar picking 2-20, getting the Royals right back into the match.
Gaurish Shenvi Lotliker and Kartik Hattangadi also picked 2 wickets apiece as the Kings lost wickets in a heap going for quick runs. Viraj Puranik 17, Mehank Dharwadkar 23 and Sarvesh Prabhugaonkar 14 helped the MLT PDK Kings reach 159/8 in 20 overs.
Madgaon Royals chasing 160 for win, were rocked by some hostile fast bowling by Mehank Dharwadkar who picked 2-17 to peg the Royals to 28-3 in the 6th over, including the prized scalp of the skipper Damodar Pai Patnekar. Damodar who was looking good during his short stay at the crease fell for 12 caught behind the stumps.
Prasheel Kamat 46 (45 balls) tried to restore parity stitching useful partnerships with Vikram Gaitonde 17 and Ashesh Pai Dukle 24. A late burst by Kartik Hattangadi 14 and Akhil Nadkarni 12 was not enough as the Royals fell short by 17 runs to finish at 142/7 in 20 overs. Sumiran Amonkar, Viraj Puranik, Ved Mahambrey and Bhushan Kamat Bambolkar picked a wicket apiece.
Sumiran Amonkar was awarded the Desserts n More Man of the Match medal and the Estilo Moderno Realty Man of the Match trophy along with a cash prize of Rs.2000 for his brilliant all round display for the MLT PDK Kings. The presentation was done by Gajanan Borkar, Viraj Dhond, Vibhav Pai, Shiraj Pai Khot and Rahul Dhond in the presence of Gomakant Mahambrey.
