The 4th match of the Desserts n More Sarsangan Super Series Cricket 2024 was played between new entrants Estilo Legends and Panjim Powerplay, both making their debut.
Electing to bat first, Legends openers Sudin Kamat 23 and Sanat Prabhudesai 30 put on a 53 run stand in just 34 balls. The introduction of Sanat Kamat put brakes on the scoring as he picked 3 wickets with his wily off-spinners to peg the Legends at 76-4 in 11 overs.
What followed next was total mayhem as the skipper Siddesh Prabhu Alvenkar 50 (25 balls) in the company of Kauntey Shenvi 51* (29 balls) entertained the crowd with some lusty hitting off the lacklustre bowling, aided by some sloppy fielding. Both hit 5 boundaries and 2 sixes each to put on a 101 run partnership in a mere 49 balls to take the Estilo legends to a commanding score of 190/5 in 20 overs.
Opening the bowling for the Legends, Siddesh Desai picked 3-13 dismissing the top order with the Panjim Powerplay score reading 14-3 in 4 overs. Though the skipper Rasik Pai Khot 26 and Laxmikant Kurade 20 tried their best, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals, chasing the steep target, to be 81-7 in the 15th over. Gururaj Bale 10 and Amogh Namshiker 15 remained unbeaten as Panjim Powerplay could muster only 110/7 in 20 overs. Raunak Nargundker picked 2-13 while Karan Mahale 1-8 and Kauntey Shenvi 1-13 also chipped in to help the Legends win their opening match by 80 runs.
Kauntey Shenvi was awarded the Desserts n More Man of the Match medal and the Estilo Moderno Realty Man of the Match trophy along with a cash prize of Rs.2000 for his brilliant all round display for the Estilo Legends. The presentation was done by Harshvardhan Bhatkuly, Viraj Dhond, Avinash Kossambe, Amogh Namshikar and Anant Prabhu Chodnekar in the presence of Gomakant Mahambrey.
