New Voices Symposium on the Occasion of The International Women’s Day 2024 “ ASTURI – ABOLI “ was been organized by The Lions International District 317 B with its New Voices Team 2023 -24 in Association with the NSS Unit of Government College of Commerce and Economics Borda Margao Goa as the extension activity of the NSS Unit was held at Auditorium of Government College at Borda Margao. The International Women’s Day “ Asturi – Aboli “ with the theme of Be The Bold Change with Asturi towards Women’s Empowerment and as Aboli is a flower which depicts A Women. The Event started off with powerpacked, mesmerizing motivational Talk on “ ASTURI – Women’s Empowerment – Be Bold For A Change “ by Motivational and Corporate Speaker Lion Vividh Pawaskar with Activity Based, Videos and Inspirational way towards the Change to be accepted, Goals to be Set and Much More followed by a Talk on Hygiene and Nutrition by Lion Dr Sonal Sushmita Salgaonkar Karpe who spoke and gave tips on General Nutrition for Women’s Health with takeaway for the young girl students of the college with how they should follow good day and seasonal regimen, healthy food habits with various vitamins and lifestyle to avoid junk food, preserved, stale food, eating wrong combinations and untimely habits of eating food which lead to vitiate doshas, doing regular exercise and yoga. Also Guidance was given about their food and nutrition during menstrual cycles which will keep every women healthy,
There were Five Women Aboli’s been felicitated for their exemplary work done to the society by the The Lions International District 317 B with its New Voices Team 2023 -24 of the Lionistic year in Association with the NSS Unit of Government College of Commerce and Economics Margao Goa, These Five Abolis were from Five different professions with Mrs Anjali Shambhu Kudnekar, Sub Editor from the Print Media with her 08 Years odd Dedication, Kum Neha Taliyan from the Police category a RPF Constable posted at RPF Vasco Railway Station, Dr Maria Fatima De Souza from the Teaching, Lion Dr Sushmita Salgaonkar Karpe a Doctor by Profession for her Dedication around to the Society We Serve as a Lion Member and Empowering Students, Lion Nelly Rodrigues New Voices Team of Lions International District 317 B for her Dedication with Women Empowerment and Her Leadership Skills were been felicitated at the Hands of District Governor PMJF Lion Erle Brito, Dr F.M. Nadaf, Officiating Principal, Government College of Commerce and Economics, New Voices Team PMJF Lion Glenda Brito the New Voices Coordinator Services, Lion Patricia Mendonca New Voices Coordinator Marketing, Lion Nelly Rodrigues, Lion Gloria Fernandes the New Voices Team in the presence of Mrs Tanvi Keny, Chief NSS Program Officer, Lion Members and Students of the College the Aboli’s were been felicitated with Certificate of Recognition , Aboli Flowers. Two Sacks of Sanitary Napkins was been handed over to the College for their Sanitary Dispenser the Sanitary Napkin Bank at College Premises.
