On the occasion of National Youth Day, South Goa Youth Congress President Mahesh Nadar urged the youth of Goa to voice out their grievances against various issues that need attention.
12 January is annually celebrated as the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda across the country.
Giving a clarion call to Goa’s youth to rise up in one voice, Nadar said that the youth should emulate the teachings and ideals of the great thinker and philosopher Swami Vivekananda who is a youth icon.
He also said that Congress Party’s late Rajiv Gandhi as a tribute to Swamiji’s thoughts and ideals had declared this day as National Youth Day.
“On National Youth Day. I urge the Youth of Goa to come and voice their frustration on issues like unemployment, inflation, bad roads, LPG hike, etc. I invite the youth to be part of the public meeting to be held at Lohia Maidan Margao on the occasion of Opinion Poll Day, in which the Congress Party played an important role in giving Goa its identity. The youth are the future of tomorrow. It is high time the youth step forward to assert themselves,” he said.
