Fishery Survey of India. Government of India, Mormugo celebrated World Hindi Day on 10.01.2024 at Ravindra Bhawan, Baina. Shri Krishna Daji V. Salkar, Hon’ble MLA, Vasco Consistuency and Chairman, South Goa Planning and Dvelopment Authority was the Chief Guest on this occasion while Captain Manoj Joshi, Dy. Conservator, Mormugao Port Authority and Dr. Pradeep Jatal, Head of Department (Hindi), Parwatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science, Madgaon were Guests of Honour. Around 60 officials from Centeral and State Governemnt organizations like Mormugao Port Authority. Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1and 2, Airport Authority of India, Marine Mercantile Department, NCPOAR, Goa Shipyard Ltd, Indian Oil, CISF, MPA and Airport. Light Ships and Light House, Central Port Health Department, Indian Navy. Goa University, Government Colege, Sankhali, FSI Mumbai (HQs), FSI, Mumbai Base, Central Pest Managemant Centre etc participated. The Chief Guest and other dignitries lit hte traditional lamp and inaugurated the function. The Function was presided yb Dr. S. Ramachandran, Zonal Director, Fishery Survey of India, Mormugao. nI his welcome speech D.r S. Ramachandran brifed about World Hindi Day and its importance and need ot conduct this programme as per the instructions of the Deartmemnt of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs. Captain Joshi while addressing the gathering, highlited the importance of language in public life and culture transistion. Dr. Pradeep Jatal ni his key note address highlighted present, past and futhre scenario of Hindi and its popularity. The chief guest Shri Krishna Daji Salkar in his address appreciated the efforts made FSI for organizing such event and hoped and supported Hindi should become the National Language of India. A booklet on yoga in Hindi Titled “Yoga-the Key to Healthy Life”was also released by the guests..
Hindi symposium on “Hindi, the connecting soul of India” was also held on this occasion wherein 31 officials from various central and state government organizations expressed their views. Kids of Gopal Fun School performed classical dance and other activities.
