Brief facts of the case:-On 04/02/2024 received information from Ms Seema Singh, Manager of N S Dhillon R/o Orda Candolim Bardez, Goa about suspicious death of NS Dhillon, age 77 years/o villa Horizon Azura at Marra, Pilerne. On reaching the scene of crime, Police found dead body of deceased NS Dhillon in his room. During investigation injuries were observed on the dead body, also jewellery, phone and Fortuner car possessed by the deceased were found missing.
On further investigation, the missing car was traced in Maharashtra and the suspects namely 1) Ms. Pooja @ Neetu Rahuja and 2) Mr. Jitendra Sahu were detained by Crime Branch unit | Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. Accordingly informed Mumbai Police and accordingly The custody of said suspects was obtain on 04.02.2024 from Crime Branch unit | Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra by team of Porvorim Police Station. On the basis of evidence a case of murder and Robbery U/s 302 & 392 of IPC, 1860 was registered.
During the course of investigation, involvement of third accused Mr. Kunal Khatik, native of Datia, M.P. came to light and he was absconding after commission of above crime.
On 15.02.2024 police team headed by PSI. Mandar Parab was deputed to M.P to trace absconding accused, however, team returned on 22.02.2024, as said accused could not be traced. However information gathered by the said teamthat the said accused was at KGF district, Karnataka in the jurisdiction of Robertsonpeth Police Station. As such, police team headed by PSI. Malik were immediately dispatched to KGF/Karnataka on 19.02.2024 and with the assistance of Robertsonpeth Police Station conducted search, however, accused Kunal Khatik could not be traced and he was found absconding from KGF area.
Further on 23.02.2024, it was revealed that the accused was spotted at Datia, M.P. As such, police team headed by PSI. Mandar Parab and staff were immediately dispatched to Datia, M.P. Further PSI. Mandar Parab with the assistance of Kotwali Police Station, Datia, M.P traced the absconding accused person Mr. Kunal Khatik s/o Ramswaroop Khatik, age 24 years, r/o Ward No. 4, Badoria Ki Kidki, Datia, M.P. near his residential house on 24.02 2024 afternoon. Further said accused was brought to Goa after obtaining transit remand. The said accused was thereafter placed under arrest in above crime on 26.02.2024. In the afternoon, the said accused was produced before the Hon’ble JMFC/Mapusa and obtained 07 days Police custody remand. The 02 accused is in Judicial custody till date.
