The Congress Party will celebrate its 138th Foundation Day on 28 December at the party’s District office at Mapusa as well as other places across the state.

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) is organising various programmes across the country.
Pranav Parab, the organising secretary of the party’s North district Committee said that at the Mapusa district office, there will be a Satyanarayana Maha puja and flag hoisting on that day.

“Our MLAs as well as state party president and opposition leader will be present. There will also be a Maha Prasad followed by a Bhajan programme. 2 party workers for each constituency have been entrusted the charge of organising the programmes at their level,” he said.

General secretary of the state Congress party
Vijay Bhike extended the invitation to all political parties and citizens of all religions to attend the Congress party’s celebrations.
“The Congress organisation was formed prior to India’s Independence and during the freedom movement to protect our country. The credit of the party’s success goes to the people, leaders and the secular parties who supported the Congress. Our workers selflessly work for the party, even spending from their own pocket, to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted upon them, ” he said.

“In the past 12 years, we have seen that the state has headed in the wrong direction, how the youth are taking the wrong path. We pray for the good of our people, for their development, for the peace of the state, for tackling illegalities, and good things in the new year,” he said.

North Goa district president Virendra Shirodkar, Block presidents and other party workers were also present.
