Social worker Sarvesh Bandodkar highlighted that after nearly four months of struggling without basic amenities, teachers of Nerul’s Anganwadi had raised concerns about the absence of proper lighting, lack of water supply in washrooms, and unhygienic conditions caused by plumbing failures. Teachers had also expressed fear overgrown bushes around the premises were attracting snakes and insects, posing risks to children and staff.

Responding promptly, Bandodkar said he immediately deployed electricians and plumbers to restore lighting, replace damaged fittings including tanks and flush units, and clear the unsafe surroundings. He emphasized that this was not just about providing facilities, but about ensuring dignity for children, security for teachers, and creating a safe, nurturing environment for learning.
