The Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), in collaboration with the Government of Goa, is delighted to announce the Aakash Kandil (lantern- making) competition as part of the 56″ International Film Festival of India 2025(IFFI 2025). This initiative celebrates Goa’s rich cultural heritage, fostering creativity and community spirit through a stunning showcase of traditional and innovative lantern designs.
Key Details of the Competition:
• Participation Criteria: Open to all residents of Goa
Entry Limit: A maximum of 600 entries, with a cap of 50 • entries per Taluka, accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
participant will receive ₹500 as a token of appreciation for their effort ano creativity.

Completed Aakash Kandils must be submitted on 20″ November between 10 am to 12:30 pm at ESG office. ESG will provide holders, bulbs, and electricity connections for display purposes
• Materials: Participants may use any material except thermocol, promoting environmentally friendly creations,
Judging and Rewards:
• Selection Process: Three winners will be chosen from each taluka, and they will receive prestigious prizes as recognition of their craftsmanship
• First prize-5000, Second prize-3000, third prize-2000 for each taluka.
. Judges’ Decision: The decision of the panel of judges wil befinal and binding.
This competition is an opportunity for participants to illuminate IFFI 2025 with their artistic vision while contributing to a collective celebration of Goa’s creativity and traditions
