The Crime Branch of Goa Police has taken over the investigation from Vasco Police and arrested Madhav Khattar, brother of Gautam Khattar, in connection with the controversial remarks against St. Francis Xavier.
Investigations revealed that Madhav accompanied Gautam to the Vasco event, coordinated logistics, and allegedly recorded and circulated the video of the derogatory speech on social media. Organisers stated they were in touch with Madhav regarding arrangements, including travel, accommodation, and a payment of ₹51,000.
Police further claim the speech was prepared by Madhav and delivered by Gautam. Based on this, Madhav has been named co-accused.
After overnight surveillance and tracking, a Crime Branch team apprehended Madhav in Haridwar. He is being brought to Goa for further questioning.
Meanwhile, a Look Out Circular has been issued against Gautam Khattar, and teams are deployed across major cities to trace him. Further investigation is ongoing.
